KING DAVID – THE SHEPHERD | Bible Family Reaction Game, Ages 3+

Around 1000 BC, before becoming king of Israel, David cared for his father’s sheep. He spent his time outdoors, watching over the flock, praying, singing and training. When a bear or a lion came, he bravely defended his sheep. To learn more about his life, read 1 Samuel 16–17 and the rest of his story.

Now the flock is in your care.

Gather as many sheep as you can, watch out for predators and react FAST to protect your flock when the BEAR or LION attacks.

How do you play?

Each player starts with a flock of 2 sheep. When you draw the SHEEP (+1) card, your flock grows. When you draw the BEAR (−1) card, it takes one SHEEP from you unless DAVID is there to defend his flock. The danger is even greater when the LION (−2) attacks and takes 2 SHEEP. Only an even more vigilant David can protect you. The danger is not limited to the player whose turn it is. The BEAR and LION can attack the flocks of all players who are not careful to protect their flock with their own hands. The game ends when someone draws the ANOINTING (+5) card. The player with the most sheep in their flock wins.
